New St. Croix border hours now in effect

New hour changes are being implemented at the St. Croix border crossing near McAdam.

Starting Monday, the crossing will operate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., instead of being open 24 hours a day.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) explains this adjustment aligns their operation hours with the U.S. port in Vanceboro.

The agency says the new hours will allow them to use their resources more efficiently by deploying officers to busier ports of entry.

Travellers are reminded to adjust their travel plans to accommodate the new schedule.

According to Google Maps, the nearest 24-hour border crossing is about a 40-minute drive away in St. Stephen.
