A new study by Statistics Canada shows women are more likely to survive cancer compared to men.
The study determined women are more likely to survive a cancer diagnosis for 13 of the 18 cancers examined.
Bladder cancer was the only cancer where men were less likely to die than women.
In that case, women were 23% more likely to die than men.
In the other four cancers studied, neither gender was more likely to survive than the other.
The study also found women were more likely to be involved with the health care system and get screened for cancer compared to men.
