Extremely high water in the Saint John area is expected to crest by Wednesday and begin receding by Thursday.
The water levels are expected to reach 5.8 metres sometime in the next day or so.
Saint John EMO Director Kevin Clifford tells us they are doing an analysis of the people who may be completely surrounded by water.
“We want to make sure those folks are ok, see if we can find out if they have registered, if there somewhere else so we want to get a sense that nobody’s been somehow forgotten about.”,
100 families have registered with the Red Cross but Clifford notes they were able to allow 600 families to stay in their homes because the work was done to build up the Westfield road at Mellinger Crescent.

Saint John EMO is using boats provided by Cooke Aquaculture to assess the situation along the River and plan for any required emergency response if needed.
A flyover is planned tomorrow to see what areas are the most vulnerable.
The Canadian Coast Guard remains on the water to respond to emergencies.
