There hasn’t been a lot of talk about what is a first in New Brunswick when it comes to property tax assessments.
The provincial government has now begun assessing large recreational vehicles that are more than 8 feet 6 inches wide in campgrounds, considered to be permanent. The province is now classifying them as cottage mini homes rather than recreational vehicles.
The tax assessments, we have been told, have ranged from $500 up to $11 hundred per trailer.
