An internal review is underway into the property tax assessment scandal and it’s been discovered that an arbitrary formula was used to help with estimating property values in both 2011 and 2017.
That from Service New Brunswick minister Dr. Ed Doherty in a news release, where he also apologizes to New Brunswickers but says this seems to be a systemic and long running issue and that the government will fix it.
The news conference is being held at noon in Moncton with Premier Brian Gallant and Doherty.
