No candidates for Campobello Island council vacancy

Campobello Island will have a vacant council seat for at least a few more months.

No candidates put their name forward for the upcoming byelection in Ward 2 on May 6.

Elections NB said the vacancy will be included in the next round of byelections, scheduled for December.

It was a similar story for the Ward 2 councillor vacancy in Lakeland Ridges and the councillor-at-large vacancy in Tracy.

Meanwhile, byelections will go ahead for vacant council positions in Grand Lake, Carleton North and Île-de-Lamèque, as well as for mayor of Lakeland Ridges.

Council candidates were elected by acclamation in Ward 3 in Arcadia, Ward 5 in Nackawic-Millville, and Ward 4 in Lakeland Ridges.
