No Injuries In Apartment Building Fire

One person has been forced from their home after a fire in a west Saint John apartment building.

Emergency crews were called to a 12-unit building on Greystone Terrace shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Platoon Chief Kevin Comeau said crews found flames and smoke coming from a second-storey window when they arrived.

“The crews quickly knocked down the fire and also checked for extension and found the fire had been contained to its place of origin,” said Comeau.

The Canadian Red Cross provided emergency lodging and purchases of clothing, food and other basics for the tenant in that apartment.

No injuries were reported, said Comeau. Fire crews were on scene for just over two hours.
