No Injuries In Overnight Fire

An overnight fire has destroyed a residential garage on the west side of Saint John.

Fire crews were called to the 100 block of Riverview Drive just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Platoon Chief Kevin Comeau said the garage was engulfed in flames, which were spreading to a nearby home.

“Crews were able to stop the spread of fire from breaching the exterior and only the siding was left with heavy char,” said Comeau.

No one was hurt and the occupants were able to return to their home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but Comeau said it is not believed to be suspicious.
