A road rage incident on the East side where a young man was hit by a vehicle was the last incident in what his lawyer calls “a run of unhappiness”.
69 year old Gene Williams had a problem with his business, was going through a divorce and had medical struggles in the lead up to hitting a young man with his car on February 23rd.

His lawyer David Lutz told reporters he predicts the Williams will never ever be back in court again.
Lutz says he spent 7 weeks in jail and had time to reflect about his behaviour. He was very ashamed of what he did with respect to this incident and he’s unhappy that his behaviour pretty much destroyed his marriage.
Willams was given a conditional 6-month sentence and time-served for the nearly two months he spent in jail.
He can’t drive for a year and he must attend, complete and actively participate in mandatory counselling.
Judge Marco Cloutier noted that Williams showed remorse, plead guilty and did not have a criminal record which were all mitigating factors in his sentence.
