The province’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell, reported no new cases of COVID-19 today.
The total number of cases in New Brunswick remains at 117, with 80 recovered cases to date.
While recent numbers are encouraging, Russell says we must continue to follow social-distancing and hand-washing protocols.
“We need to maintain the barriers to the spread of infection that we have built over the last month. We cannot take a break from these actions. They remain very important in protecting the health of all New Brunswickers,” she says.

Dr. Russell says the Georges Dumont microbiology lab conducted nearly 500 tests yesterday and expects that number to be even higher in the coming days.
Russell also praised Public Health teams tasked with contact-tracing to slow the spread of the virus.
However, she stressed that public co-operation is needed to ensure that contact tracing is effective and urged New Brunswickers to closely follow directions if they have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
