No New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday In P.E.I.

A sigh of relief from many residents in Prince Edward Island.

The Chief Medical Officer of Health had no new cases of COVID-19 to report Tuesday morning.

This comes after five cases over the weekend.

Dr. Heather Morrison says all are still active cases, and the individuals are self-isolating.

A record number of 850 tests were performed in PEI over the weekend.

Morrison is now strongly recommending the use of non-medical masks or face coverings in places where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

That includes grocery and retail stores, hotels, restaurants and medical facilities.

As for the Atlantic bubble, between July 3rd and 5th, over 5,700 vehicles crossed the Confederation Bridge onto the island.
