No Verdict Yet In The Cormier Murder Trial

During closing arguments the prosecution in the second degree murder trial of Fred Cormier Junior, who is charged in the stabbing death of Spencer Eldridge, says this is not a case of self defense

The prosecution asking the jury to think about Cormier’s choices – that he chose to arm himself with a buck knife, chose to open the door and confront Eldridge, and chose to stab him.

The prosecution adding that the force used by Cormier was disproportionate and unreasonable. The defense is arguing that this is a case of self defense pointing to threatening text messages that Cormier received from Eldridge.

The jury deliberating til just before 9 last night. They did request to hear the 911 call again.

Judge Ray French again reminding the jurors to consider all of the evidence and to not discuss the case while in their hotel and to avoid any media coverage of the case.

Deliberations resume at 9 this morning.
