November Snow Is Great News For NB Ski Hills

Not everyone is complaining about the snow. The General Manger for Poley Mountain is welcoming the white stuff.

Bill Anderson says it has been quite a few years since they’ve had snow in November and even having cold enough temperatures to be able to make snow is great news.

He says their official opening won’t be until next month, but if you’re looking to get in a little bit of skiing this weekend there will be an opportunity, “Our plan is to open on December 7th for the whole mountain and that hasn’t changed. We are going to do something for this weekend, and have our beginner area open and go from there.”

Anderson says they’ll start blowing snow Thursday morning, “We probably have about six inches of snow down, and we had about 20-25 centimetres on Tuesday night. We’re getting the machines up and running and we’ll also be making more snow.”

Anderson says this is the perfect snow for the slopes, but there isn’t quite enough just yet to open up all of the ski runs.

He says they are really looking forward to just having an old fashioned New Brunswick winter..
