November Storms Aren’t That Unusual

The snow, ice pellet, rain mix is supposed to hang around all day.

Saint John is looking at 10 centimetres of the ice pellets and snow mixture today and another two centimetres tonight.

As of 1 p.m. today, 3 centimetres of snow had fallen at the Saint John airport.

Meteorologist Jill Maepea tells CHSJ News communities outside of Saint John are getting a lot more snow today.

“I’m in Fredericton and it looks like it should the 20-centimetre mark and that extends to Moncton and for Sussex, it should be around the 15-centimetre mark.

While a November snowstorm seems a bit unusual, back in 1879 the Port City was slammed with more than 33 centimetres of snow.
