Ferne Beatrice Andow

February 25, 1921  –  April 1, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ferne B. Andow, wife of the late Walter “Wally” Robert Andow on Wednesday April 1, 2026, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Ferne was born on February 25, 1921, in Maces Bay, N.B. to the late Gertrude (Shaw) and Michael Cassidy.

Ferne taught school throughout New Brunswick for over 30 years, the majority spent teaching primary in Saint John. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Keenagers Group and the Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by stepdaughter – in – law, Anna Andow, of Woodstock, N.B., several step – grandchildren, and step – great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and their extended families.

Ferne was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Michael Cassidy, her 1st husband, Allan Graham, her 2nd husband, Walter R. Andow, three brothers, and Three sisters.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Castle Funeral Home from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Thursday April 9, 2026, at 1:00pm. A reception will be held at Castle Funeral Home following the service. Interment will take place in Maces Bay Cemetery in the spring of 2026. Donations may be made to the Maces Bay Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at WWW.
