Office Building At Centre Of Oland Case For Sale

The Saint John building at the centre of a high-profile homicide investigation and two murder trials is on the market.

A recent real estate listing shows 52 Canterbury Street, a heritage building in the city’s uptown, for sale with a selling price of $550,000

“This is one of Saint John’s showcase, Italianate style, brick building with the grandeur of post and beam construction combined with many upgrades,” reads the listing.

The three-storey building is where the bludgeoned body of Richard Oland was found on the morning of July 7, 2011.

Investigators determined his death was a homicide and arrested his son, Dennis Oland, more than two years later.

Oland was convicted of second-degree murder in 2015 but the decision was later overturned and a judge found him not guilty after a second trial in 2019.
