Official NB Election Campaign About To Begin

The provincial election campaign will officially get underway later this week.

Premier David Alward visited Lieutenant-Governor Graydon Nicholas in Fredericton yesterday and asked him to dissolve the New Brunswick legislature on Thursday.

That paves the way for an election campaign to officially begin, although campaign-style TV ads were launched by the Alward Conservatives more than a week ago.

Fixed date election legislation will mean New Brunswickers head to the polls on September 22nd.

The Conservatives under Alward have 41 seats in the legislature, the Liberals led by Brian Gallant have 13 members and one seat is occupied by an independent.
