The province has developed a comprehensive cyberseurity strategy which it says will create jobs through tech startups and keep New Brunswickers safe from cyber attacks. It’s being done under Opportunities New Brunswick and cybersecurity expert Allen Dillon says they want to make sure this province can avoid the problems others have had when it comes to cyber attacks. He cites Ukraine as an example that had its power grid brought down by a cyber attack. Dillon says New Brunswick is already being recognized for its cybersecurity industry and points to IBM’s purchase of Q1 Labs in Fredericton for hundreds of millions of dollars.
