One Person Seriously Injured In Route 7 Crash

Fire crews say one person was trapped in their car after it left Route 7 and burst into flames in the Welsford area.

Emergency crews were called to the north end of the Welsford bypass just before midnight Monday night.

Dave McCready, chief of the Welsford Volunteer Fire Department, said bystanders pulled the driver from the vehicle.

McCready said the driver and lone occupant of the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crews were on scene for about an hour and the crash is under investigation by the RCMP, he said.
