Opening night fireworks cancelled at Saint John Exhibition

The Saint John Exhibition has officially begun, but this year it will not feature its traditional opening night fireworks.

Organizers announced the cancellation of the fireworks display due to a province-wide burn ban, which is in place because of dry conditions.

The fireworks show has always been a highlight of the exhibition’s opening night, attracting crowds to Exhibition Park to celebrate the start of the week-long event.

However, due to concerns about the risk of wildfires, provincial officials have maintained restrictions on outdoor burning, including pyrotechnics.

Despite the cancellation of the fireworks, the exhibition will continue through Saturday, offering a full schedule of events such as midway rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and agricultural showcases.
