Order Restricting Forestry Operations Lifted As Fire Hazard Reduced

A ministerial order that had been issued by the energy and resource minister Rick Doucet restricting forestry operations in the province because of how dry it was in the woods, has been lifted.

The department says that the rain and cool damp conditions we’ve had has led to a lower fire hazard and those conditions are expected to continue going forward.

In a news release, Doucet says ‘the level of caution that forestry operations and recreational users have exercised over the past two weeks helped us get through the most extreme conditions in decades.’

Restrictions on forestry operations were in effect throughout New Brunswick as the province grappled with the highest fire hazard level seen in over 20 years.
