Osprey activities cause Charlotte County power outages

Many Charlotte County residents and business owners have dealt with several power outages in recent days.

There have been widespread power outages in southwestern New Brunswick almost daily over the past week or so.

A spokesperson for NB Power said they have determined the outages were triggered by osprey activities.

“NB Power is committed to providing the safe, reliable electricity that New Brunswickers need and we recognize that outages are an inconvenience for homes and businesses,” the spokesperson said in an email.

The utility added that it continues to investigate to determine if any measures can be put in place to help prevent future incidents.
