Overpass Fight, Car Prowls, and More Info on Friday’s Blackout

A few stories to report from the police blotter….

Saint John Police responded Saturday afternoon to a fight on the Wall Street overpass involving three men and a woman with a baby. That call came in around 4 when one of the men was reportedly swinging a knife around. A 19 year old was arrested and charged with common assault, obstructing a peace officer, and several weapons charges with a court date in a few months.

As well, police are reporting a rash of car break-ins in Glen Falls and elsewhere out east, and are advising people to be extra careful with their belongings.

And that dump truck on Friday crashed that knocked out power for most of the day for Lorneville residents? According to police, the truck took out the power lines after the driver failed to lower the truck’s hydraulic dump.
