Parent Finders Helps Reunite Families Separated By Adoption

There’s a group in New Brunswick that can help uncover the mysteries of the past for adoptees and for others who have given their children up for adoption.

President of Parent Finders New Brunswick Marie Crouse says she currently has a lengthy list of individuals who are hoping to be successful in their searches, “I’ve got 827 birth relatives and 1972 adoptees on the list born in New Brunswick who are still looking and have been looking for many years.”

Crouse says they have successful located family members of 410 people, “We don’t do anything that is against the law. We just search around and find out what people know, with the hopes of making a connection.”

She says it isn’t uncommon for people to want to know where they came from, where they got their blue eyes, and hair colour or where they got their laugh.

Crouse is just one of many who was lucky enough to find her daughter that she gave up for adoption, and she has also adopted two children of her own. She also helped to located her daughters birth parents.
