Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle In Saint John

Saint John police are looking for a vehicle which they say struck a pedestrian on Friday night.

Sgt. Ron Cooper said the crash happened at the intersection of Crown and Union streets around 6:50 p.m.

Cooper told our newsroom the man, who was in a crosswalk at the time, was taken to hospital and later released.

He said a vehicle described as a white car fled the scene following the crash.

Meantime, one person was arrested after a vehicle hit a pole at Grandview Avenue and Bayside Drive around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Cooper said the person was later released from custody and will appear in court at a later date to face impaired driving charges.
