Pedestrian seriously injured in Saint John crash

A 63-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Saint John.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on Union Street around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said a vehicle struck a fence and a light standard before hitting the woman.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision, according to a police spokesperson.

Union Street was temporarily closed between Prince Edward and Wentworth streets but has since reopened.
