Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Saint John

A 50-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle on the east side of Saint John.

Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Bayside Drive around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate, along with New Brunswick Coroner Services.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video footage of the incident.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story indicated the victim was 49 years old, as reported by police. Their release was later updated to say he was 50 years old.
