Prime Minister Justin Trudeau telling an interviewer with Bloomberg News Old Age Security eligibility will be restored to age to 65 in next week’s budget. The previous Harper government had raised it to 67, effective in 2023.
Trudeau says raising it to 67 across the board was too simplistic because there are some people who work in physically gruelling jobs that make it difficult to work beyond 65.
Trudeau says his government is also working on increasing the Canada Pension Plan.
