Peter Lewis Re-Offering In Rothesay

A long-time businessman in Rothesay is looking for another term on town council.

Peter Lewis, who was first elected to council in 2012, is re-offering in the upcoming municipal elections.

Lewis has lived in the Kennebecasis Valley town for nearly three decades.

He pointed to some of council’s past accomplishments, including maintaining the tax rate for nine years and implementing a new EMO plan.

If re-elected, Lewis said some of his priorities would be maintaining a stable tax rate for residents, working with council to donate a building lot to Habitat for Humanity, and moving forward on the Rothesay Arena renovation.

He said he would also work with council to look at selling off the properties on Scott Avenue which were set aside for a new arena before they decided to move forward with renovating the existing facility instead.

Voters will elect their next mayor and council on May 10.
