Pilfering Beverages Doesn’t Pay Off For One Man

Saint John police officers arresting an enterprising drink salesman on Canada Day.

While on foot patrol in King Square, officers noticed a man they describe as older and dishevelled was selling drinks on top of green milk crates.

The officers found it a bit odd but they kept going. Later, the same officers were called to a theft from the House of Chan in Brunswick Square.

A variety of drinks were missing and green milk crates had been stacked up beside it a damaged cooler.

Camera footage showed the Canada Day drink salesman taking some inventory for his stand.

Police returned to the square to arrest a 55-year-old man on charges of theft, mischief and parole violation.
