PM Says International Travel Should Be Avoided

Canadians are being advised to avoid travel during this pandemic.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says people are safest when they stay in Canada.

“If people do choose to go, that is their choice but they need to make sure they have good health insurance, good travel insurance and also they make sure that wherever they going that they have a good healthcare capacity that is not going to get overwhelmed if something goes wrong,” Trudeau says.

He adds, snowbirds need to be very aware, “The pandemic continues to cause significant challenges around the world including in the Southern United States. ”

Canada’s official travel advisory is that all Canadians should avoid international travel.
