City Police are investigating the theft of money taken from the Cathedral on Waterloo Street that had earlier been collected from a Sunday Mass. There’s no word on how much money was taken.
An attempted robbery on Elliot Row is also being investigated. A man says he was struck on the head with a steel bar after answering to door by another man who had said he was looking for the victim’s roommate. Police say a struggle ensued and the would be robber took off after trying to steal electronics.
Copper wire was stolen from an Irving compound on Grandview Avenue after the fencing was cut.
