City Police are investigating an armed robbery over the weekend at the Jean Coutu Pharmacy on Millidge Avenue. Police say the robber threatened store staff with a weapon and then took off with drugs and cash.
Police are also investigating another telephone scam. A woman on Martha Avenue told police she received a call claiming her bank account had money taken from it.
She was told to buy a thousand dollars worth of gift cards and transfer then by email to cover the charges to her bank account.
Police say the woman did what she was supposed to do by calling her bank to check whether her account had been breached which it hadn’t.
