A Saint John police cruiser has been heavily damaged after an incident on the west side on Wednesday morning.
Just after 9:30 a.m., police tell us officers followed a vehicle of interest into a Manawagonish Road parking lot.
Manawagonish Rd is closed to thru traffic from the Gault Rd to Fairville Boulevard until further notice.
Saint John Police Officers are dealing with an incident and there is no threat to public safety.

When officers tried to approach the vehicle, the driver took off, ramming into a police vehicle stopped on the road.
The damage to the police vehicle is estimated at about $5,000.
A 30-year old man is looking at charges including possession of a stolen vehicle and outstanding warrants.
No one was injured.
