POLL: Council Support Stable, Consumer Confidence Dips in SJ

Most Saint Johners that took part in a recent poll support Mayor Don Darling and council but are not feeling so great about forking out the cash.

Corporate Research Associates finds consumer confidence among Saint Johners has slipped slightly this quarter.

The Urban Report survey finds consumer confidence in the Port City rests at 99.1, compared with 102.8 three months ago.

In terms of consumer confidence, Saint John sits below that of Halifax, Moncton, and Fredericton.

66 per cent of Saint John residents are still satisfied with the performance of the council under Mayor Don Darling’s leadership. That support remains stable.

The consumer confidence results are part of an independent telephone survey of adults in Saint John, Fredericton, Moncton and Halifax between July 19th and August 8th.

Government satisfaction numbers are based on polling 225 Saint John residents.
