Jim Quinn of Port Saint John says his thoughts are with the people of the Sussex area and those working in the mine.
He says Port workers will cotinue to see activity from potash but now it will be coming in by rail from Saskatchewan.
He says it’s a very tough economy but we are also hearing that the low dollar is good for some like the forest productions industry adding the American economy seems to be slowly improving which is good news.
Quinn notes this decision would not have been an easy one to make.
