Students at St. Martins School are getting an early start to their weekend due to a power outage.

The Anglophone South School District announced just before 11 a.m. Friday the school would be closing early.

NB Power reported 900 homes and businesses without power in the area due to a motor vehicle collision.

Communities impacted include Bains Corner, Bay View, Fairfield, Fundy National Park, Gardner Creek, Orange Hill, St. Martins, St. Martins North, Tynemouth Creek, and West Quaco.

Power is expected to be restored between 12:30 and 2 p.m. Friday, according to the utility’s website.
