Power Outages Caused By High Winds

The strong winds causing power outages affecting over 36 hundred homes and businesses around the province, as of 8:00 this morning, including more than 14 hundred in the Sussex area and 580 in the St. Stephen region.

NB Power reports 82 customers are without power in Quispamsis causing a lot of traffic congestion around the McEsso.

City Police telling us a section of Fairville Boulevard from Keirstead Road to Manawagonish Road had to be closed because of the heavy rain earlier but that’s expected to clear itself up now that the rain has stopped.

The sailing this morning of the Fundy Rose from Saint John to Digby has been cancelled.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Wednesday warning of significant snowfall and gusty winds across the province. Accuweather is predicting up to 25 centimeters for Saint John while Weather underground is forecasting 15 centimeters.
