Power Utilities Prepared For Incoming Nor’easter

Power utilities are on standby as they prepare for the latest nor’easter — the fourth in the last couple of weeks.

Saint John Energy says they’re prepared and ready for the storm, although they don’t anticipate any issues.

And NB Power says they’ve been watching the storm for a couple of days and have equipment and teams ready in case there are any power outages.

Environment Canada says snow will move in overnight and continue all day Thursday, with up to 15 centimetres expected by midnight Thursday night.

Winds gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour along the coast are also expected to bring blowing snow.

City officials in Saint John are asking people to avoid travelling during the storm if possible.
