Premier Brian Gallant is trying to persuade federal Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor to choose New Brunswick as the location of a healthy seniors pilot project.
It is designed to discover best practices to keep seniors healthy and in their homes.
Gallant says New Brunswick is perfect because it is home to one of the largest percentages of people aged 65 years old and above.
He adds the province, and the entire country would benefit from finding innovative solutions to the fiscal challenges presented by an aging population.
Gallant will also discuss Energy East, economic development, job creation and cybersecurity in meetings with various cabinet ministers in Ottawa this week.
