Premier David Alward is taking a swipe at Provincial Liberal leader Brian Gallant by saying future economic prosperity in Saint John depends on development of shale gas in the province.
He suggests the 3 billion dollar retrofit of the L-N-G terminal won’t go ahead without natural gas and the best access is a domestic supply.
The Premier also warns no companies will want to invest 400 million dollars into the port if there is no supply of natural gas.
Alward charges Gallant’s call for a moratorium on shale gas development doesn’t make sense.
