Premier Brian Gallant brought his provincial chamber tour to Moncton today and addressed members of the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce.
On the eve of the federal budget, Gallant says the province is pleased to hear that the Trudeau government is focused on growth.
“It’s very clear to us that they want to invest strategically in infrastructure and innovation and things that will help us develop a skilled workforce. That’s exactly what we are focused on here in New Brunswick so we’re very pleased to see the federal government is focused on those things as well,” he notes.
Gallant says he also hopes that federal spending programs on infrastructure will be flexible for smaller provinces like New Brunswick.
He adds funding an important highway in this province is as critical as funding an important highway in Toronto – noting there may be traffic differences but both are still necessary infrastructure projects.
