Prime Minister Condemning North Korean Nuclear Weapons Test

Canada is condemning North Korea’s latest nuclear weapons test.

In a statement, the Prime Minister calls the explosion on Sunday a threat to international safety, especially in light of North Korea’s tests of ballistic missiles near itsneighbouring countries.

Justin Trudeau says North Korea continues to break international law with these weapons tests.

The Prime Minister’s office adds they’re urging the United Nations to restrict North Korea’s use of nuclear weapons.

Speaking in the White House on Sunday, U.S. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis says there will be an “effective and overwhelming” military response to any threats to the U.S. or its allies. (File Photo)
