Health Minister Ted Flemming announcing two smoking cessations drug, Zyban and Champix, will now be covered under the provincial drug plans.
Flemming says both therapies were reviewed and and recommended for listing under the provincial drug plans.
Flemming adds smoking rates have declined considerably over the past decade and he hopes this initiative will result in even more people in the province being able to quit.
One course of treatment will be covered each year for members of both plans who are 18 years of age and older.
