Province Drops Court Action On Separate School Buses

The issue of whether having separate bilingual school buses in New Brunswick is constitutional or not will not be going to court. That word coming from Education Minister Brian Kenny who says school districts will now have the responsibility for managing the transportation of students, as outlined in a new policy.

Kenny says the Court of Appeal was reluctant to rule on the constitutional question and the province wanted to avoid lengthy and expensive litigation.
