Province Says Long Term Goal Is Twinning Highway 11 From Shediac To Miramichi

The provincial government’s long term goal is to twin Highway 11 from Shediac to Miramichi.

The busy north-south corridor has seen many bad accidents over the years.

Transportation Minister Bill Fraser says funding the twinning project is the key issue and he anticipates Ottawa will be a partner.

“Prime Minister Trudeau had indicated they are willing to have a large injection of infrastructure money and we’re looking forward to taking advantage of some of those dollars for our province as well,” he notes.

The province and the federal government have partnered to twin a short section of Highway 11 from Route 134 to the Shediac River which should be completed by this fall.
