A confirmed case of E. coli in New Brunswick may be linked to romaine lettuce.
Chief medical officer of health, Dr Jennifer Russell, says New Brunswickers should avoid eating romaine lettuce and salad mixes containing it until more is known about the outbreak and the cause of contamination.
PHAC is aware there is an additional confirmed case of E. coli reported in NB today. The brings our total to 19 confirmed cases in Canada.

Her office is working closely with the Public Health Agency of Canada and public health officials from Ontario, Quebec, several U.S. states and the federal government.

On Tuesday night, Sobeys temporarily stopped the sale of all romaine lettuce products across its national network which includes Foodland, Safeway and IGA until further notice.
