Provincial NDP Leader Plans To Build Policies Off Principles Of Tommy Douglas

The new leader of the provincial NDP plans to build policies off of the principles of Tommy Douglas, who was the first to lead the newly-created party nationally back in 1961.

Jennifer McKenzie, who is succeeding Dominic Cardy now of the PC party, says Douglas founded the party based on clear, fundamental principals of social justice and clean environment.

She says the plan is to build policies that will take New Brunswick forward into the future.

McKenzie says a lot of our attention has been focused on large corporations and she thinks they want to take a different approach and build the kind of economy that capitalizes on the strengths and capabilities and resourcefulness of New Brunswick.
