Public Consultation On Meenan’s Cove Park

Quispamsis is looking for your input on proposed enhancements to Meenan’s Cove Park.

Suggested changes include an expanded beach house, beach volleyball courts, and flood mitigation.

Mayor Gary Clark said he is excited about the plan, adding he sees a lot of potential with the area.

“Certainly, expanding that area and making it even better for the residents, moving things around and increasing the beach house so that we can host more events there,” said Clark. “I’m looking forward to seeing that proceed.”

Town council got their first look at the proposed enhancements during last week’s meeting.

They were told the proposed work would cost between $1.6 million and $2.4 million and would be done over a three-year period.

“We want to make sure that the public has input and that we’re open and transparent with them,” Clark said.

“We’ll take the input from the public and staff will have a look at it and bring it back to council for further review.”

The town received more than 550 surveys this spring, which Clark said helped form the proposed plan.

A public consultation session will take place at Quispamsis Town Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
