Public engagement for new St. Stephen municipal plan

A new municipal plan is being developed for the Municipal District of St. Stephen.

Council recently approved a series of public engagement sessions as part of the plan’s development.

A survey is expected to be mailed to each household in the municipality during the month of October.

There will be a paper mail-in option and a link to a digital survey that can be filled out online.

Three separate in-person open houses are also planned in November, along with a virtual session.

Proposed locations are the Little Ridge Community Hall, Garcelon Civic Centre and Oak Bay Community Hall.

A preliminary version of the plan is expected to be presented to council in January or February.

That will be followed by the formal bylaw adoption process, which will include a public hearing.

The Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission will carry out the work on behalf of the municipality.
